With his winning entries and medals
On Wednesday 14th June, we all went for a long cycle around Urhan. It was about 6km in length. Some of our Mums and teachers came with us too. We all wore our hi-vis vests and helmets and made sure that we had gone through our safety rules. Those who weren’t able to cycle, helped out back at school getting the brunch ready. When we returned, we had sausages, chicken goujons, chips and wedges . We followed that with a fruit smoothie. Later on we designed tour of Urhan jerseys’. We also learned about how bikes have changed over time and designed bikes for the future.
‘I went for a cycle with the school. I was a bit scared at first, but I did not fall off my bike. Then it was fine.I went past my Nan’s house and I saw my neighbour. I passed my house and going down the hill was scary. After that we got back to school.’
Children and parents enjoyed a lovely sunny day for our annual beach clean at Travarra on Friday 2nd June.

Great news to report that Travarra was the cleanest we have seen it. Well done to all in the community for keeping it that way.

We welcome Janine Stoob, a student teacher from Switzerland. She will be with us for three weeks. We are looking forward to learning about Switzerland and hopes that she enjoys being with us too.
We would be pleased if parents could follow this link as we are gathering some data for updating our Irish programme in school.
The survey closes on Fiday 9th June.
We wish Miss Welsh all the very best for her forthcoming wedding and in true Urhan style, we gave her a good send off on Wednesday.
The Green Schools committee are delighted to announce that Urhan has been awarded it’s 6th Green School flag. The flag was given for our work on Global Citizenship Litter and Waste. Some members of the committee went to collect the flag in the Radisson Blu in Little Island last week. We will have a special flag raising before the end of term.
